| Biography: |
| 2006:
Aaron Breit went 2-3 with a 3.08 ERA over 18 games, including 12 starts, for the Eugene Emeralds. In 64.1 innings he allowed 60 hits, walked 22 and struck out 69.
Notes:
The club originally drafted Breit out of high school with their 46th-round pick in 2004, but was unable to sign him the first time around. Based on conversations with him and their scouting reports, Padres brass decided to take him in the 12th round in 2005 and targeted him for signing all year, coming to a deal just prior to the 2006 MLB Draft.
The Hays, Kan., native posted a 2.85 ERA in 75.2 innings of work for Garden City Community College this year, striking out 108 batters while allowing 64 hits and walking only 30. Over his last 14 innings in the playoffs, he posted 25 strikeouts. |
